Alberth Christian Nahas or simply Alberth, is a young man born in a beautiful town in South Kalimantan Province, Banjarbaru, on May 5, 1985. He is the last of three, with a brother and a sister. He came from a humble family with Dad who work as a lecturer of Fishery Faculty at Lambung Mangkurat University, while his Mom is stay-at-home Mother.
The journey of his life was began at the Rahayu Kindergarten where he spent 2 years as a happy jolly kid. His next stop was Sanjaya Elementary School. It’s a catholic school in his hometown, known from its discipline and well-educated graduation. From his 6-years study, he got a once in his life chance to go to Jakarta for representing his province to the National Mathematics Competition in 1997. This was the beginning of his success life in academic. He received the honor for the distinguished student by the end of his study at Sanjaya Elementary School.
His adolescence was marked by studying at SLTPN 1 Banjarbaru. He continued to receive several honors in the academic but unfortunately he couldn’t fulfill his dream to be a sportsman because of his blood system disorder. He ended his study at this school by receiving the honor for the distinguished student.
As a teenager, he tried to focus on what he can do for the best, which is in the academic field. He studied at SMUN 1 Banjarbaru where the experience had taught him to more opened in everything. He realized that he can’t life by himself. He needed somebody who can work together as his friends. He transformed from a sophisticated person to just a simple person. His new discovered had led him into the new chapter of his life. His biggest achievement when he studied at SMUN 1 Banjarbaru was winning the Chemical Olympiad for South Kalimantan Province.
People said that the Senior High School era is the best time in the life. But he found it wrong. Study as a undergraduate student had taught him more about life. He felt that his ‘tiny’ life in the campus was the stepping-stone to his real life in the future. He learned a lot about how to make a relationship, to act, to respond, to be a leader, to be a supporter, to be serious, and not to be a loser. Really, he found that he has many precious time in that age. He also maintained his achievement in the academic by being the top of the GPA for Mathematics and Science Faculty in Lambung Mangkurat University.
Chemistry had taught many things in his life. It’s not just about how two or more reactants reacted to yield new compound. It’s not as simple as like that. Sometime, it need particular conditions to make the reaction. Sometime, it need much time to gain the result. Sometime, it need something to help the process. And sometime, unfortunately, it can not react or the result is not agree with our thought. He found the similarity with such things. Therefore, he chose Chemistry as his ‘Guru’.
It was chemistry that had brought him into the new life. A way from his hometown Banjarbaru, he landed on a very strange city, named Bukittinggi. There, he worked as the government officer at Indonesian Meteorology and Geophysics Agency or BMG. It’s truly an adventure for him since he never leave his hometown for a very long time. He worked at Global Atmosphere Watch Station, a place that -in his opinion- is the perfect place to gain his ultimate dream: going abroad.
March 23, 2009 was marked as a historic day in his life. He was on his way to go abroad. Yes, he had fulfilled one of his biggest dream. Yet, he is not stop dreaming. Thought that it was just his stepping stone for something bigger. He can feel it.
Now, he is still living his life, trying to figure out anything. He also has an obsession to meet someone to share the life with. Again, he think that it’s matter of time. Life goes on…
